Divisions the Autonomic System:

Locations of axons of ANS neurons:

• The axon of the first neuron is a small-diameter, myelinated type B fiber that extends to an autonomic ganglion.

• The axon of the second neuron is a small-diameter, unmyelinated type C fiber that extends to visceral effector tissue.

Summary of the Autonomic System:

Division: Sympathetic Nervous System (for "flight and fright" reaction) and Parasympathetic Nervous System.
