What are Early Decelerations of Fetal Heart Rate?

• Gradual decreases in fetal heart rate below baseline.

• Begins and ends simultaneously with contractions.

• Mediated by vagal stimulation.

• Occur in response to fetal head compression.

• Have no impact on clinical outcome.
