• Picornavirus; RNA.

• Naked.

• Diagnosis: IgM to HAV.

Hepatitis B:

• Hepadnavirus; DNA.

• Enveloped.

• Diagnosis: HBsAg; IgM to HBcAg.

• Partial double-stranded circular DNA.

• Dane particle.

Hepatitis C:

• Flavivirus; RNA.

• Enveloped.

• Diagnosis: Ab to HCV; ELISA.

Hepatitis D:

• Defective circular RNA.

• Enveloped.

• Diagnosis: HDAb; HBsAg.

Hepatitis E:

• Calcivirus; RNA.

• Naked.

• Diagnosis: Ab to HEV; ELISA.
