What is Organizational Behavior?
Human behaviour within an organization is determined by various factors like motivation, financial incentives, work environment, etc. It is vital that an organization study these factors in order to ensure maximum productivity from its employees. Organisational behaviour is the study and application of human behaviour as applied to organizations. Organizations may be schools, businesses, government, etc. The study of organizational behaviour helps people, structure, technology and environment to work in unison for maximum productivity. The basic assumptions that we come across while studying organizational behaviour are:
Basic Assumptions:
a. An industrial organization is composed of people.
b. These people must be motivated to work effectively.
c. Employees and the employee may have their disagreements.
d. Policy makers should be aware that organizational laws may not always appeal to people.
